Admin/host menu icons

May 7, 2011 at 2:48 PM

Hello again

Something else I've just discovered is that the admin and host menus won't render the [#IconFile] property, and presumably other properties as well.

Is there any way the admin/host menus can just be made to behave exactly like the other menu items? I can't quite see why they shouldn't?

Hello Rob,

rendering the [#IconFile] property for admin and host tabs does work for me. All tabs share the same rendering routine ... so it should be the same (if defined correctly in the template file)!

Can you post or send me your template file? (

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the positive replies. I'm really looking forward to using this. It has a lot of potential.

I've just now checked this particular issue again and can confirm that the tab icons are rendering on all tabs except for those under the Admin and Host menu items.

Now that I exmine it more closely, I can see that the code is rendering correctly, but there are no icons. It looks as if the admin and host tab icons are possibly specified in a different manner?

I'll email you the template I'm using right now, plus a link back to this post here.

Thanks heaps!

I was putting the email together and figured out what teh problem is.

I think the solution would be if there were a token for tab icons and a seperate one for admin/host tab icons... because they have different paths.

So a tabicon token would produce:

<img border="0" align="absmiddle" src="/Portals/PortalID/path/icon.gif">

And the admin/host tabicon would produce:

<img border="0" align="absmiddle" src="/images/icon.gif">

And neither would render at all when nothing is present.

Or perhaps I've missed something about this.
